Curcuma are exciting new bulbs in the ginger family that are native to Thailand, Laos, China and other southern Asia countries. Sweet Rosy Curcuma has glowing rosy pink blooms that make a statement in the garden.  This tropical favorite will bloom approximately 10-13 weeks after planting. Plant Curcuma in the ground or in pots.

In hardiness zones 8 and above Curcuma will be winter hardy and perennial returning for several years. Curcuma do go dormant in warm climates during the winter months, so don't be alarmed if they disappear for a few months.

Plant Curcuma in moist, well drained soil in soil high in organic matter. During the growing season once the Curcuma has emerged from dormancy be sure to provide plenty of water, as it needs about 1" of water per week to thrive. Curcuma thrive in warm climates and will bloom all summer! Can be grown in the ground in beds or borders, but also does very well in patio planters and containers.
