The Saffron Crocus is by far the most popular crocus available.  Saffron Crocus offers a beautiful white/lavender stripe bloom with bright red stigma. The stigma can be harvested, dried and used in popular recipes that call for the herb Saffron. Add this to your collection while it lasts.

Saffron crocus is a fall blooming and fall planted variety of crocus. The first season it is planted it may not flower, however, will return for several years with purple blooms in fall.

The product came quickly and the bulbs were a very good size and in good shape. I just planted them this fall so I haven't seen them bloom yet.

Bulbs came well packed and were sprouting on arrival. I planted them in late November and by the beginning on January I had foliage above ground. No blooms, but I wasn't expecting any due to late planting. I'm very excited see these in bloom in the fall of this year.

I planted these beneath hardware cloth since this variety can be attractive to squirrels.

As soon as the saffron crocus bulbs were received, they were planted. At this point, they are about two inches tall and look like many already have multiple shoots. I can't wait for them to bloom for the first time!
