Ship Season: Spring
Unique gourds twist and turn into different shapes and sizes. For straighter Snake Gourds, grow on a strong trellis, which will allow gourds to grow downward. Snake Gourds can be used as musical instruments. Also known as Italian Cucuzzi squash, they can be eaten when young and tender, similar to summer squash.

Garden Tip: For best germination, nick the seedcoat. Soak in lukewarm water for 24 hours before planting. Best to plant when soil temperature is 65 degrees or higher.
Drying Tip: Pick gourds when entire vine is dry and brown. Handle gently and turn weekly as gourds dry in a warm, airy place. Do not cut or decorate until completely dry and seeds rattle.
