The Blues Little Bluestem is one of the easiest ornamental grasses to grow, as it tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and is hardy in zones 3-9. The blue grassy foliage is appealing all season, and only gets better in fall. In fall the foliage changes from blue to burgundy and really makes a statement! Maturing at 2-4' this upright grass also has purple/bronze flowers in late August that complement the orange/bronze color well. Once the flowers are dried they turn to silver seed heads that are fluffy and persist into winter, adding color, texture and interest to the winter garden.
