Thyme has a strong piquant or lemony flavor. It enhances the flavor of meat, fish, and poultry. Also used in landscaping where their small mounding growth habit makes a delightful addition to most beds. Supreme when potted or in hanging baskets. Garden tip: Leaves can be harvested for fresh use throughout the summer, but the flavor is best just before flowering. To dry, cut the stems just as the flowers start to open and hang in small bunches.

Dill is not only beautiful but is easy to grow. The seed is used as a pickling spice and the leaves are used in fresh salads or as garnishes. Garden Tip: To harvest dill, cut leaves close to the stem early in the morning or late in the afternoon. To collect the seed, cut stem so that it can be hung and dried in a dark place. Spread paper or bag underneath to catch the seeds.

Parsley Plain Single, also called Italian Parsley, is one of the most commonly used herbs in cooking and a preferred plant of gourmets. Its culinary uses include salads, soups, butters, fish, and poultry. Parsley contains large quantities of vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. Best known for poultry stuffings, sage is also a delightful seasoning for meats. One of the best herbs of choice for spicing up relatively bland foods. Wonderfully aromatic, this plant can be grown indoors or out. Garden Tip: Leaves may be picked as needed and used fresh or dried. Cut back plant after blooming for best results.

Catnip can be used for ornamental and culinary purposes. The leaves and shoots have been used in sauces, soups and stews. The flowers, as well as the leaves are used in herbal teas. Catnip has a minty, lemon taste. Cats love it! 75-85 days to maturity. Garden tip: Harvest the leaves as the flowers begin to bloom. Cut off the top of the leaves, stems and flowers. They can be dried or frozen.

The robust, peppery flavor of Arugula adds zest to your salads. For maximum taste, harvest leaves when they are approximately 6" in height. Grow with other cool-weather greens, such as a spinach, lettuce and mustard. For fresh green from the garden, stagger planting every 2 weeks during the growing times. 40 days to maturity. Red Ruffles is a variety of basil that is both beautiful and delicious. The strikingly beautiful aromatic leaves can be used fresh, frozen, or dried.  This variety is a wonderful addition to flavor vinegar, soups, stews, salads and Italian recipes. German Chamomile is widely used in brewed tea and to perfume soaps and lotions.  Chamomile not only tastes great in tea but it offers a wide variety of health benefits!  It can reduce anxiety and stress, helps with digestion, boots immunity and soothes cold symptoms just to  name a few.

Lavender True English, or Munstead Strain, is the most popular scented herb available.  The fragrant leaves and blossoms can be used to perfume potpourri, soap, flower arrangements, bath salts........the possibilities are endless!  

This gourd averages 2-3" in size. A miniature version of an old-fashioned pumpkin with colorful bright orange, deep ribbed skins. Grown mainly for fall decorations but has an edible, sweetly flavored flesh.Garden Tip: Can be grown on a sturdy trellis. Cut the mature pumpkins from the vines with pruning shears, leaving 3" of stem attached to the fruit.
