Included in the Italian Mix Kitchen Herb Kit are the following herb seeds:

Oregano- Oregano is an important culinary herb used for the flavor of its leaves, which can be more flavorful when dried than fresh. Oregano has an aromatic, warm and slightly bitter taste, which can vary in intensity. When cooking with Oregano it can be used in pizza, lamb, vegetables, stuffings, and egg dishes. Fresh oregano is antibacterial and contains plenty of vitamin K, vitamin E, manganese, calcium and tryptophan. Dried oregano is also beneficial to your health, but over time may lose some of it's health benefits.

Thyme- Fresh or dried in Thyme is a popular herb to add recipes with chicken or pork, it also goes well on a fresh salad, tomatoes and beans. Health benefits of thyme include antibacterial properties that can help with upper respiratory problems. Thyme is rich in fiber, calcium, vitamin K and Manganese. Thyme can be added to your recipes as a fresh or dried herb.

Basil- Basil is most commonly used fresh in cooked recipes. In general, it is added at the last moment, as cooking can quickly destroy the flavor. The fresh herb can be kept for a short time in plastic bags in the refrigerator, or for a longer period in the freezer. Basil is commonly used in tomato sauce, pesto, meat seasoning, stuffing, soups, salads and vinegar. It can also chopped and sprinkled over fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar for a fresh caprese salad! Basil is anti-inflammatory, and an antioxidant. This versatile and popular herb is a must have for anyone who likes to garden and cook with fresh herbs!
