Alfalfa sprouts are one of the most widely used sprouts to add nutrition to salads and sandwiches. Alfalfa are very easy to grow and are ready within days after planting! These sprouts are not only a good way to add some flavor and crunch to your dish; they are also known for increasing iron levels in blood!
I got the alfalfa seeds to try sprouting them myself at home. It was really easy. I put them in a square plastic container that once held cherry tomatoes and had holes in the bottom, lined with a couple layers of unbleached muslin. I kept them wet, adding a little water daily. Almost all of them germinated and sprouted, and they were delicious.
