In hardiness zones 8 and above Curcuma are Winter hardy and can remain outdoors during the Winter months, sprouting each Spring! In colder climates, Curcuma does best if grown in a patio pot and placed in a partial shade, warm location. Curcuma do prefer well-drained, nutrient rich soil but do need to be watered regularly throughout the active growing season to thrive.
