BloomStruck® Reblooming Hydrangea flowers heavily in spring on old wood and again in late summer on new wood! Since this variety will bloom on both old and new wood, only prune any dead, damaged, or weak stems in late winter or early spring. Avoid hard pruning, as this can cause the shrub to not flower as prolifically.
Huge clusters of blooms can reach 3.5-5" across and will either be pink in higher pH soils or purple to blue in low pH soil conditions. Flowers are held up by bright red stems, adding to the color and uniqueness of this variety! The large glossy leaves add to the appeal, being heat tolerant, withstanding wilt during the heat of the summer, and turning a deep burgundy to red in fall! Plant in well-drained soil, in morning sun and afternoon shade for it to thrive.
