An attractive gourd reminiscent of swans, also known as Gooseneck. Its skin color is dark green, and its light green speckles change to tan when dried. Measure 10-12" from curve in neck to base of fruit. Swan gourds make lovely decorations when painted.
Garden Tip: For best germination, nick the seedcoat. Soak in lukewarm water for 24 hours before planting. Best to plant when soil temperature is 65 degrees or higher.
Drying Tip: Pick gourds when entire vine is dry and brown. Handle gently and turn weekly as gourds dry in a warm, airy place. Do not cut or decorate until completely dry and seeds rattle.
