Perhaps one of the most adaptable perennials available, daylilies are as easy to grow as they are beautiful. These beauties do not require any special care and can be left to naturalize freely if planted in a large space. Daylilies require little attention to watering once established and can be deadheaded if repeat blooming or a clean appearance is desired. Although drought tolerant, plants will be most healthy and vigorous in a soil that is moist but well-drained. Daylily root starts should be planted just below the ground's surface, covered by no more than 2" of soil and 15-18" apart.
